Mission

To contribute to forest industry development and enhanced competitiveness and growth of the forestry sector in Guyana through advocacy, training, dissemination of technical, trade and other information, provision of accessible technical and business support services, by promoting sustainable practices and by networking with local, regional and international agencies.

The overall objective of the FPA, to achieve its Vision and fulfill its Mission, has been focused into six separate Strategic Goals:

1.     To improve the structure, governance and operation of the Association to ensure the most effective fulfillment of our mandate
2.     To ensure short- and long-term financing for the Association to support our operations and development
3.     To increase the membership of the Association particularly from small-scale producers and regional associations
4.     To increase the level and range of services to our members
5.     To improve linkages and working relations with key agencies, associations and enterprises in the sector
6.     To improve communication within the Association, particularly to our members outside Georgetown, and external communications with particular reference to promoting the activities of the Association
